Family Session at Queset House and Gardens North Easton, MA

With the triplets two sons and a daughter living off at college, it's not often enough that everyone is together at the same time, even during school breaks. Knowing that the whole family would be together the night before the kids started going back to school for the fall semester, Sue contacted me about doing outdoor family pictures. She has been trying to coordinate one for the last two years and finally everything fell into place and we had a date set up. When we met to plan their session we discussed most frequently asked question of how to prepare for family pictures addressing wardrobe, the best time to have family pictures taken and best location to photograph the family.

We started the session at the Queset House located at 51 Main St North Easton MA which is next to the Ames Free Public Library in North Easton MA. We started the portrait session in front of the main entrance where we created beautiful portraits of the couple mom and dad who have been married for over 20 years. While outside the house we took some photographs of the 3 children with the English Gothic Mansion in the background and some photographs of the family on the side of the house then to the garden next to the house where we created some candid family portraits with the parents mom and dad in the foreground and the three children set behind them in the background. We followed to create candid portraits of the family walking towards the old ruins in of the garden and reflecting pool. The family enjoyed their time together walking the path to beyond the house and off to the veranda and terrace. their portraits were set with the woods and trees by Queset Gardens in their background. As soon as the sunset we created the individual portraits of each family member followed by portraits of dad with a daughter. We continued to create a formally posed portrait of the entire family then a combination of the groups broken out to dad with son's mom with the daughter and each mom and dad with the children. The skies were gorgeous! Before a photo session, I always meet with my clients to plan the details of their session and discuss how they wish to display their photographs in their home. Sue mentioned either a large wall portrait to go behind the couch in their living room, or perhaps a wall cluster the same wall. With use of my specialty software I was able to photograph their walls and prepare some design samples.  Based on how you intend to display your photographs in your home, I can further customize your session so that you have artwork that you can look at every day and be reminded of the love you all share.

Once we completed creating the family pictures we met again to look at the family pictures and make selections of their favorite pictures as well as decide on how they wanted to enjoy their portraits. After reviewing the images they decided on a combination of family pictures with entire family the couple the children and each parent with the children. They opted to have their portraits printed and framed a wall gallery of a landscape large-sized portrait surrounded by four smaller portraits of framed canvas for space behind their couch. We took extra measures in ensuring that the images would fit the space perfectly. Its important to ensure that the portraits will fit into the space and be a part of your homes décor so its important to discuss where you want to display the photographs in your home, we can make sure to photograph with those places in mind.

Once the portraits were completed we set out to install the wall art which is part of our services. When installing the images we measure everything and check in to ensure that the images are presented as you envisioned them. For most clients this is the best part of the process when you get to see the transformation that takes places once your family portraits find a place in your home. As an artist I love this part of the process as well because I see how much emotion the client experiences when their images become Fine Art to be enjoyed in the home and the emotional attachment associated with decorating your walls and home with fine art that has the most important people in your life your family. The Joy associated with that experience is one that I will never tire of and its a big reason I do what I do. Bringing your family that Joy is my life’s calling and always an honor.
