Family photos come in all sorts of iterations, and as a Randolph family photographer, I've seen them all. Parents with children. Just the kids. Older siblings together. A single person or a couple or Even a group of close friends. Family has so many definitions, and so family photos can be so many different things. As a child, and even now, one of my favorite things to do was peruse through my family's photo albums and marvel at old photos of my parents, as well as newer photos of my own immediate family.
The Fall is slowly approaching and If you haven't had your family photos or scheduled your family session yet I would highly recommend you do so today dont let this year be another one that goes by chose without documenting your growing family. Whether it be for the first time or the fifth time; whether it's a traditional family or something a little different, family photos are so important. I've got two reasons why now is the time for family photos (and I'd love to be the one to take them). So to find out why you should have your family's photos taken this year, read on.
1. For the present
Maybe you're a new family who just had a baby. Maybe you've got a few growing kids, or you have one about to go to college or maybe even an aging parent. The bottom line is you want to remember the now. You want to remember this moment. Time passes fast. They're only this little once. Each moment happens only once. You want to remember this now, this present, and bring it with you to the future.
2. For the future
I am very lucky to come from a family where photos are plentiful. In my parents' home, there is a photo of my grandfather this is the only way I remember my grandfather since he passed away when I was about 2 years and I dont have much memories of him other than though the photographs. I spend so much time looking at photos of my parents as children; of my own immediate family through the years. It all gave me a sense of belonging and a connection to my past.
There are lots of moms (and dads, too, but honestly, more moms) who say they wish they were in photos with their children, or they wish there were more photos of them, period, so their children would have some to look at now, and in the future. The future is uncertain. I cannot tell you how much those children would appreciate if their moms and dads and aunts and uncles and grandparents got in a photo. The future value of photos like that is immeasurable. Believe me. Your future family will thank you over and over for them.
Family Portrait Photography is so important in recording various stages through your families life. In current day While most parents especially mothers tend to be the ones recording the memories for their children its important to make time to be in the frame to make sure you exist in your family memories.
A Portrait Session with Seraphine Photography is an experience your family will remember and treasure for years to come and will be passed down generations you too will be remembered. Call me today make sure you too are in the frame. We will start by talking on the phone then planning to meet so we can design and plan not only your family memories but also discuss how to present and display your experience.
The mom of this awesome family initially wanted the session on their yard however when you have teenage girls their opinion matters and they had envisioned something different. After brainstorming we settled for a beautiful gem. I loved dreaming with her and building on her vision. The combination of 2 young women their mom boats and the beautiful historic bridge at Regatta Point Park and Lake Quinsigamond Worcester provides made for a pretty awesome session!
After some discussion of location we settled on Regatta Point Community Sailing. This Community was Founded in 1960 with one simple goal- to bring "Boating for All" to greater Worcester. I love the character of the building both from the beach as well as once you step inside.
I love the wardrobe that Dorothy picked out for her family. It’s well-coordinated with just the right amount of neutrals mixed with pops of color. Nicely done!
We of course wrapped up the session with the girls enjoying each others company. I love candid's and this type of session definitely offers plenty of opportunity to capture much spontaneous sweetness.

It was such a beautiful late Spring day for this family Session. The family had a major Milestone Coming up with their daughter who is also the oldest in the family was setting to graduate from high school. The Tulips were in full bloom at the Bradley Estate Gardens and gorgeous as ever. While our initial planned session date was a washout as it can happen in the Spring we were all really happy with our rain date because it turned out to be a crispy day but the sunset was absolutely gorgeous.
The family was looking absolutely gorgeous and they enjoyed sharing one on one time together there was chest bumping and the kids enjoyed taking a stroll while the parents had their couples photos done. The teens loved the location so much that they wanted to get most of their portraits framed by the flowering shrubs.
After our initial consultation and portrait planning session the family was really excited and everyone was involved in the planning process.
The best part of the entire experience was when we got together for the reveal party when the family was was able to view their images and select their final art and product. Going through their gallery together and selecting the photographs that best represent their individual personalities and the families personality was such a great joy both for the family and so fulfilling for me as an artist to see the final product on the wall. Thank you for entrusting me to document this beautiful and important milestone in your family. It’s was such a pleasure to spend the amazing time we did together through the process and glad you loved your experience.
We were really excited to visit the Ice Castles in NH. We picked February Vacation to go and we are glad that we made it there. The temperature's were in the 50's which resulted in the ice melting while we were there nonetheless we were glad it wasn't biting cold. Here are a few of the images from our visit. In the future we'll probably plan to go later in the day to get the full effect of the surrounding.
We are glad to have brought our winter gear and while we had it in the car we actually had considered leaving it but glad we geared up for it.
Helpful tips. Bring your winter full winter gear and sleds.
Madison is one of the most kind hearted, humble and sweet girls I have ever met! It's easy to see her outer beauty at first glance, but what I love most about her is the way her inner beauty just radiates.
Madison loves to dance and the girl scouts. When I asked her what one word she would use to describe herself, she said: "I am kind and loving." What amazing traits to have, and when you meet her, you can see it's truth right away!
Happy 10th birthday Madison. I know your mom and dad are So proud of you!
This duo birthday at the Altitude Trampoline Park was a lot of fun to document. There was a lot of fun to be had and the children truly enjoyed themselves. Following the Birthday Party we had a family session scheduled and while we had sub zero temperatures as expected of February. Everyone enjoyed being outside.
This mama needed to get some headshots to use on her upcoming coaching class, to top it off her birthday and her daughters birthday were in the same month so in celebration of turning another year for both her nd her daughter we figured we get some updated portraits of her and her daughters in studio. Birthdays are a great time to update your family portraits but have portraits of you and your children adds to the fun.
Another cold late fall day in New England served as a great reminder that winter is right around the corner. But don't let that fool you it didn't take long for this family to warm up to their family sessions. The kids were great spots once they got moving they were happy to tough out the New England weather. We had an amazing time together.
The weather was beautiful. We had an amazing New England Fall chill the kind that reminds you that winter is right around the corner so brace yourself for it. The love between this family was enough to thaw any cold we might have been experiencing and the smile on the lovely young lady is enough to make you feel warm.
While the weather has been unseasonably cool well actually cold this family didn't let that stop them. The lighting was absolutely beautiful and while late fall we run into the challenge of the temperature being too cool, the background is absolutely gorgeous due to the Foliage. Naturally with a 3 month old we took the rest of the session inside so she could keep warm. The best part of the session was the smiles i got from this 3 month old.
While we knew we had frigid temperatures to some extent we didn't realize how cold it would feel especially this early in the season. But this family toughed it out and they didn't let the cold stop them from having fun at their session and towards the end of the session we had amazing magical light. Borderland Park Is stunningly beautiful and we were blessed to have such beautiful light peeking through the trees. As a Randolph family portrait photographer I generally photograph in the surrounding towns and Easton is one of my Favorites. I love taking pictures at Borderland State Park because it has so many varied backdrops all in the same location.
We had a great laugh as the young almost 3 year old DJ reminded us to Sit down and be humble. What a great joy it was to be around him and he's family and What beautiful Fall Foliage all around us. The Foliage and wind make a great combination as the leaves were falling softly and slowly which made it even more fun for this family as they got to play in leaves.
What a beautiful Fall day for a family session at The Bradley Estate in Canton. The Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate is Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate is an elegant former estate with beautiful gardens and great hiking opportunities surrounding fields, pastures, Beautiful Formal Garden and a great place to enjoy some quite time in nature with your family and picturesque backdrop for your professional family pictures.
In the fall the Estate has a beautiful backdrop with varying scenes. This is one of Seraphine Photography’s favorite locations to photograph family pictures.
Fall Foliage slowly starting to peak and I am so in love with all of the turning leaves here! I was really excited to meet and photograph this family having photographed the youngest several times once for a sitter milestone session then his one year birthday portraits it was definitely a treat to see his Sweet face again. His sisters are just as delightful and the absolutely adore their baby brother. The girls enjoyed running and playing at the estate and later enjoyed the sunset while allowing their parents to get a moment to have the parents get some couple portraits taken. Taking time to photograph parents on their own is really important part of our family portrait session as this gives a couple afew moments to reminisce on when they were just the two of them and incorporate their relationship to their family portraits.
This family session was also a 6 month Milestone session for the most adorable and happiest boy I have ever met. Boy is he a happy little one who braces his parents with lots of giggles and laughs he is sure is a lot of Joy to be around. And at the tender age of 6 months you can tell he has a great love for books. Here are just some of my favorite images from the session.
I just LOVED getting to meet Emma and her mom last week! We had such an awesome evening for a session, and it was so fun to get to know Emma more as the evening went on her she loves singing and she blessed me by singing a tune during our session. Not only does she love music she's really interested in theatre and history, While Emma is very laid back she wanted a fun session with a feminine touch and what a great surprise it was to find beautiful flowers at sunset lake park. The sun was setting and the beautiful golden rays of the sun were lighting up the sky beautifully and adding a touch of pink to the sky and water. What a gift! Enjoy your senior year, Emma!...
It was such a pleasure capturing this family memories for The Boorky Family. This was originally Scheduled as a maternity session but Miss Amelia made her debut so it ended up as a family Session. The session fell on Master Jacks birthday so he was super excited to run around in his birthday Cape. Happy Second Birthday Master Jack and Happy 2 Month Birthday Miss Amelia. Both Children are a pleasure to photograph and Jack is taking big brother role seriously and with great honor always happy to give little sister hugs and kisses.
